Shopping
Shopping. Shopping capital
The strategic location of the town has fostered intense commercial activity, which is why it is considered one of the main urban commercial centres in Catalonia. It also combines with other aspects that perfectly complement the architectural heritage and wide range of restaurants. Leading brands, century-old establishments, theatres, art galleries and a fabulous range of restaurants can be found in Vilanova i la Geltrú.
The variety of shops in the town surpasses that of the region thanks to the recent establishment of all kinds of stores offering household goods, fashion and accessories, jewellers, florists and bookshops, all combined with culture and leisure.
The town centre has a large open-air pedestrian area, with Rambla Principal at its centre, from which other streets fan out such as Avinguda de Francesc Macià, Carrer dels Caputxins, Carrer de Sant Sebastià and Carrer de Sant Gregori, and the Plaça dels Carros, Plaça de les Cols and Plaça de les Neus.

The emblematic Plaça de la Vila is the hub of town life and a typical meeting point thanks to its cafés, wineries, restaurants and terraces, which coexist in perfect harmony with the shops.
