THE PEACE OF MIND OF REACHING A SAFE HAVEN

Vilanova i la Geltrú Port

The fishing port is one of the most important on the Catalan coast for its fleet, diversity of species-most notably the unique Prawn of Vilanova– and for the large volume of catches obtained year after year.

The marina is also one of the main ones in Catalonia for its number of moorings and the excellent services it offers. It has a yacht club and is the only marina in the western Mediterranean designed exclusively for mega yachts. It has 48 moorings for boats between 25 and 130 metres long. Vilanova Grand Marina is the perfect base in the heart of the Mediterranean.

Since 2002, Vilanova i la Geltrú has been recognised with the Estació Nàutica (Marine Resort) award due to its excellent nautical infrastructures, the services the town has to offer and its unbeatable location on the map of Catalonia. Thanks to all this, all types of water sports can be practised throughout the year, such as kayaking, catamaraning and paddle surfing, in addition to hiring sailing boats and many other leisure activities.

A town open to the sea

The Mediterranean has always been an important part of Vilanova i la Geltrú. It has made its inhabitants passionate about marine life and has shaped their open and welcoming character. Since 2019, the town has had the Barris i Viles Marineres (Coastal Neighbourhoods and Towns) tourist destination seal, which is awarded by the Catalan Tourist Board.

The sea at Vilanova i la Geltrú offers many possibilities: a stroll along the beach, a dip in its warm waters, navigating in all ways imaginable and also enjoying its seafood and fish.

Beaches

The town’s beaches stretch between two hills that hug the bay of Vilanova: Sant Cristòfol to the east and Sant Gervasi to the west.

At the foot of the Sant Cristòfol hill is the Far de Sant Cristòfol beach and the other three beaches: Ribes Roges, Adarró, la República and Sant Gervasi.

From the hill of Sant Gervasi, the shoreline between Vilanova and Cubelles is where the most untouched beaches are: Aiguadolç and Llarga.

Finally, to the far south, just before the town district of Cubelles, is Ibersol beach.
