Vilanova i la Geltrú is preparing to celebrate on February 20 at 8:30 p.m. at the Carpa By Caserco https://lacarpavilanova.com a new edition of the Tast d’espigals, a gastronomic meeting open to all citizens, whose main objective is to promote the dissemination of the espigall del Garraf.
This celebration highlights a local product with a great history and culinary tradition, the so-called brotons or brotonera cabbage, popularly known as espigals are a typical ingredient of Vilanova i la Geltrú and play a fundamental role in the traditional winter cuisine of the Garraf region.
During the Espigalls Tasting, some restaurants of the Gremi d'Hostaleria de Vilanova will present different dishes made with this product for a price of €35.
The participating restaurants are:
Restaurant del Foment, Càtering Caserco, Stirling, La Farmàcia, La Daurada, KinKakau, Passions l’Origen del Pa and the Escola d’Hostaleria Joan Ramon Benaprès.
The event not only celebrates this unique food, but also promotes sustainability and responsible consumption of KM0 products, which is why it is undoubtedly an essential event for lovers of good cuisine and local traditions.

Find the Anomaly, a tradition for the whole family
The Find the Anomaly! gymkhana is the oldest campaign of Viu Comerç, fully integrated into the Carnival events, it is about finding an anomaly in the windows of the participating stores. The players of the gymkhana will have to fill out a diptych with all the anomalies found until completing the circuit. In this way, they can deposit their leaflet with the correct answers in one of the mailboxes along the route to participate in the draw. This year the anomaly will take place from February 17 to 28, with the last day coinciding with the Arrival Day. On Tuesday, March 4, the award ceremony will be held at the Joan Oliva i Milà Municipal Library in Plaça de la Vila at 5 p.m. together with the award ceremony for the street decorations.
